Responsibilities
- Lead conceptualization and detailed design of aerospace mechanical components using CAD software
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for structural integrity
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into larger assemblies
- Develop and test prototypes in advanced materials testing laboratories
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Document technical specifications and prepare engineering change orders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or automotive sectors
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong understanding of GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with composite materials and additive manufacturing techniques
- Proven track record of delivering projects from concept to production
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility
