Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and design of complex robotic subsystems and electro-mechanical assemblies.
- Perform advanced stress, thermal, and kinematic analysis to ensure product durability and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electronics and software into mechanical frameworks.
- Drive the prototyping process from initial sketches to functional alpha/beta units.
- Establish engineering standards, CAD best practices, and documentation workflows for the department.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct rigorous design reviews to maintain elite quality standards.
- Manage vendor relationships for custom component fabrication and material sourcing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
- Minimum of 6+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical product design, specifically in robotics or automated machinery.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or NX preferred).
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and material science (aluminum, steel, and high-performance polymers).
- Proven track record of taking products from R&D through to full-scale production.
- Experience with FEA tools (ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation) for structural optimization.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead collaborative technical projects.
