Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from conceptualization to prototyping and testing
- Develop CAD models and technical documentation for aerospace components using SolidWorks
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for system optimization
- Collaborate with materials science team on composite material integration and testing
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Interface with manufacturing partners to ensure producibility and cost efficiency
- Present technical solutions to executive stakeholders and industry partners
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation software
- Strong understanding of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Proven track record leading complex mechanical projects from concept to production
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience with DO-160 aerospace environmental standards certification
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with systematic approach to design challenges
