Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design using SolidWorks and CATIA for aerospace components
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and GD&T specifications
- Collaborate with materials engineering team on composite and alloy selection
- Manage prototype builds and conduct rigorous testing/validation cycles
- Mentor junior engineers and drive design best practices
- Interface with suppliers to ensure component quality and cost-effectiveness
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years aerospace experience
- Expert proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks/CATIA) and simulation software
- Proven track record in designing high-reliability mechanical systems
- Familiarity with ASME Y14.5, MIL-STD-31000, and FAA certification processes
- Strong problem-solving skills with DFMEA/DFMA methodology expertise
- Experience with composite materials and additive manufacturing processes
- Active PE license preferred
