We are seeking a visionary Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our elite R&D team in Detroit. You will lead complex projects from conceptual ideation to final production, ensuring our robotic systems set the industry standard for precision and reliability.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop sophisticated mechanical components for industrial robotic systems using SolidWorks or CREO.
- Lead thermal and structural FEA analysis to validate design integrity under rigorous operational loads.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electronics and software engineering, to ensure seamless integration.
- Manage the full lifecycle of product design, from prototyping and testing to final manufacturing support.
- Develop detailed technical documentation, BOMs, and engineering specifications for mass production.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics or aerospace.
- Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong understanding of GD&T, material selection, and high-precision manufacturing processes.
- Proven track record of taking complex mechanical assemblies from initial design to market launch.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
