Responsibilities
- Lead the full lifecycle mechanical design of robotic components from concept to mass production.
- Perform complex structural and thermal analysis (FEA) to ensure system reliability under extreme loads.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing partners.
- Create high-precision CAD models, assemblies, and detailed technical drawings using SolidWorks.
- Conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with industry safety standards and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in mechanical design and documentation.
- Manage vendor relationships for prototyping and component sourcing.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD platforms.
- Proven track record in designing high-precision mechanisms, linkages, or actuators.
- Deep understanding of materials science, specifically in aluminum, steel, and carbon fiber composites.
- Experience with GD&T and manufacturing processes like CNC machining, injection molding, and additive manufacturing.
- Strong problem-solving mindset and the ability to operate effectively in an iterative, agile environment.
