Responsibilities
- Product Development: Lead the end-to-end mechanical design process for new products, including concept generation, detailed design, and prototyping using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
- Simulation & Analysis: Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal analysis to validate designs for structural integrity, durability, and performance under various operating conditions.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and manufacturing specialists, to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
- Manufacturing Liaison: Collaborate with the production team to optimize manufacturing processes, reduce lead times, and ensure cost-effective assembly of mechanical components.
- Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including Bill of Materials (BOMs), design specifications, and assembly manuals.
- Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and CAD drafters, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical growth.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in mechanical design and product development within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Software Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in CAD software such as SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD. Experience with simulation software like ANSYS or Abaqus is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing), materials science, and manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, 3D printing).
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and propose innovative engineering solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
