Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual design and prototyping of aerospace mechanical components using CAD/CAM tools
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and CFD simulations for structural optimization
- Develop detailed engineering documentation including BOMs and manufacturing drawings
- Collaborate with materials science team to select advanced alloys and composites
- Conduct rigorous testing and validation of prototypes under real-world conditions
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design processes
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and FAA aerospace standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace or high-performance mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA V5, and ANSYS simulation software
- Proven track record in developing complex mechanical systems from concept to production
- Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes (machining, molding, composites)
- Experience with DOE methodologies and statistical analysis for problem-solving
- Active PE license or willingness to obtain within 6 months
