Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design process, including conceptualization, detailed design, and prototyping of new products.
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Solid Edge) to create precise 3D models and 2D engineering drawings.
- Perform rigorous mechanical analysis, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal analysis, to validate design integrity.
- Collaborate with manufacturing and supply chain teams to ensure designs are producible, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
- Conduct testing and validation experiments on prototypes to identify design improvements and optimize performance.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to the design team.
- Stay current with industry trends, materials, and manufacturing technologies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent) required; Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development within a manufacturing or engineering firm.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or PTC Creo) and PDM/PLM tools.
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Experience with FEA analysis tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of managing projects from concept through mass production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
