Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from conceptualization through prototyping to production
- Develop detailed CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for structural validation
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineers to integrate mechanical systems with automation controls
- Design and conduct rigorous testing protocols for performance validation and reliability
- Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices in design methodology
- Research and implement innovative materials and manufacturing processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for industrial equipment or automation systems
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FEA software (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM principles
- Experience with hydraulic/pneumatic systems and motion control integration
- Proven track record of leading successful product development projects
- Strong problem-solving skills with systematic approach to complex challenges
- Excellent communication abilities for technical documentation and team collaboration
