Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design process, from concept generation and prototyping to production and final assembly.
- Utilize advanced CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or CATIA) to create detailed 2D drawings and 3D models.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations to validate product performance under various load conditions.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers, to integrate mechanical systems seamlessly.
- Develop and manage BOMs (Bill of Materials) and ensure compliance with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Oversee the testing phase of prototypes, analyzing failure modes and implementing corrective design changes.
- Mentor junior staff and provide technical guidance to ensure project milestones are met efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (PE license preferred).
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the manufacturing, robotics, or aerospace industries.
- Proficient in 3D modeling software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or PTC Creo) and simulation tools.
- Strong working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, 3D printing).
- Proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously with strict adherence to deadlines and budgets.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
