Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings with GD&T tolerances
- Interface with suppliers for prototyping and production optimization
- Drive DFM (Design for Manufacturing) initiatives to reduce costs
- Lead root cause analysis for field failures and implement corrective actions
- Mentor junior engineers through technical reviews and design critiques
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in precision mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools
- Strong understanding of aerospace materials (composites, alloys)
- Certification in GD&T (ASME Y14.5)
- Experience with DOE (Design of Experiments) methodologies
- Proven track record in high-volume manufacturing environments
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license required
