Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle for aerospace components using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for structural optimization
- Develop manufacturing processes and assembly procedures for precision aerospace systems
- Collaborate with electrical and software teams on integrated system designs
- Prepare technical documentation including CAD drawings, BOMs, and test protocols
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for compliance with AS9100 standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 5+ years experience in aerospace or high-precision mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and CATIA with complex assembly management
- Strong background in FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and thermal analysis
- Familiarity with AS9100 and DO-160 certification requirements
- Experience with composite materials and additive manufacturing processes
- Proven track record of delivering DFM-optimized designs for volume production
