Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of automotive components using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to optimize performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on prototype development and testing
- Develop detailed technical documentation including CAD models and BOMs
- Implement DFMA principles to enhance manufacturing efficiency
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive or aerospace
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and CATIA with advanced surfacing skills
- Strong background in FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Knowledge of automotive industry standards (IATF 16949)
- Experience with additive manufacturing processes and materials
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
