Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design lifecycle for aerospace components using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis for structural optimization and thermal management
- Develop detailed engineering documentation including BOMs, GD&T, and assembly drawings
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with avionics and software
- Conduct prototype testing and validation in laboratory and field environments
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (molding, machining, composites)
- Certified Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Demonstrated experience with DO-160 aerospace environmental standards
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects on schedule and budget
