Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design using SolidWorks and CATIA for EV powertrain components
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop detailed engineering documentation including GD&T drawings and BOMs
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) for integrated solutions
- Prototype testing and validation in laboratory and field environments
- Optimize designs for cost-effectiveness, manufacturability, and regulatory compliance
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design processes
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive/transportation systems
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks/CATIA) and FEA software
- Deep understanding of manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal, CNC)
- Proven track record in product development from concept to production
- Strong knowledge of automotive safety standards (FMVSS, ISO 26262)
- Experience with battery thermal management systems highly desirable
- Excellent problem-solving skills with data-driven decision making
