Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end mechanical design process from concept sketch to final production documentation.
- Utilize CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Inventor) to create detailed 2D and 3D models and engineering drawings.
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and stress testing to validate design integrity and performance under various operating conditions.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including electrical engineers, product managers, and manufacturing specialists to ensure seamless integration.
- Develop and manage BOMs (Bill of Materials) and ensure all designs meet regulatory and industry standards.
- Oversee the prototyping process, including 3D printing, CNC machining, and in-house testing, to refine designs before mass production.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on best practices in design for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in mechanical design and product development.
- Proficient in CAD software, specifically SolidWorks (required) or AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and manufacturing processes (Injection Molding, Sheet Metal, CNC).
- Experience with FEA tools and simulation software.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
