Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex robotic mechanisms and structural components using CAD software.
- Conduct rigorous FEA and thermal simulations to ensure structural integrity and performance under load.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and software engineers, to integrate system components.
- Lead design reviews and provide technical mentorship to junior engineering staff.
- Manage the transition from prototype development to high-volume manufacturing processes.
- Optimize designs for cost, manufacturability, and assembly (DFM/DFA).
- Maintain detailed documentation and engineering change orders (ECOs) in accordance with ISO standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical product design, preferably in robotics or aerospace.
- Expertise in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA, or NX) and PDM/PLM systems.
- Proficiency in FEA tools (ANSYS or Abaqus) for stress and fatigue analysis.
- Deep understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and material selection.
- Proven track record of taking complex products through the full product development lifecycle.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
