Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design of complex robotic systems and high-precision automation equipment.
- Develop detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Conduct rigorous FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to ensure structural integrity and thermal performance.
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Oversee rapid prototyping and coordinate with vendors to manage part fabrication.
- Perform root cause analysis on design failures and implement robust engineering changes.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best practices in DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME); Master's degree preferred.
- 5+ years of professional experience in machine design or automated systems.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
- Strong background in material selection, machining processes, and injection molding.
- Demonstrated experience with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Excellent communication skills and experience presenting technical designs to stakeholders.
