Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design lifecycle of complex robotic sub-assemblies and complete systems.
- Create detailed 3D CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks or Autodesk Inventor.
- Perform comprehensive FEA (Finite Element Analysis) to ensure structural integrity and thermal management.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, electrical, and manufacturing engineering.
- Select and validate raw materials, fasteners, and components for optimal durability and cost-efficiency.
- Manage rapid prototyping cycles and oversee physical validation testing in the lab.
- Mentor junior design engineers and ensure adherence to best practices in documentation and version control.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably within robotics or industrial automation.
- Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD modeling software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Hands-on experience with CNC machining, 3D printing, and sheet metal fabrication techniques.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and ASME Y14.5 standards.
- Proven track record of taking products from initial concept to mass production.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
