Responsibilities
- Lead design and prototyping of complex mechanical systems using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Conduct FEA/CFD simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications for production partners
- Collaborate with electrical and software teams on integrated system designs
- Implement DFM/DFA principles to optimize cost and manufacturability
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Stay current with emerging materials and manufacturing technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's in Mechanical Engineering with 5+ years experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Proven track record in automotive or heavy machinery design
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Experience with material selection (metals, composites, polymers)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- PMP or Six Sigma certification preferred
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
