Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept validation through production release
- Develop detailed CAD models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations for structural integrity and thermal analysis
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for cost-effective production
- Generate comprehensive technical documentation including BOMs and test protocols
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews for continuous improvement
- Research emerging materials and manufacturing technologies for innovation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in mechanical product development
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and CATIA with complex assemblies
- Strong background in FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Experience with automotive component design and validation processes
- Knowledge of GD&T and manufacturing methods (injection molding, casting, etc.)
- Proven track record of bringing products from prototype to production
- Strong problem-solving skills with systematic approach to failure analysis
