Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of automotive components using SolidWorks and CATIA V6
- Conduct FEA/CFD simulations for structural analysis and thermal optimization
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems into vehicle platforms
- Develop detailed manufacturing documentation and support prototype validation
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Ensure compliance with ISO 26262 functional safety standards
- Manage project timelines and deliverables using Agile frameworks
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive or aerospace industries
- Expert proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA) and simulation tools
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes (injection molding, sheet metal, CNC)
- Certification in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis
- Experience with automotive testing standards (SAE J2430, ISO 16750)
- Demonstrated ability to lead complex projects from concept to production
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
