Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to prototyping using CAD/CAM tools
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for structural optimization
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and specifications for precision components
- Collaborate with R&D to test and validate prototypes under extreme environmental conditions
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace or high-precision mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation software
- Demonstrated experience with composite materials and lightweight design principles
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMA methodologies
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience with additive manufacturing (3D printing) for rapid prototyping
