Responsibilities
- Lead conceptual design and prototyping of advanced mechanical systems
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations for structural integrity and thermal analysis
- Develop detailed CAD models and manufacturing documentation
- Collaborate with R&D teams to integrate novel materials and technologies
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Ensure compliance with ASME, ISO, and aerospace industry standards
- Optimize designs for cost, weight, and performance targets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace/defense
- Proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS suite
- Expertise in GD&T and tolerance analysis
- Strong knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes
- Certification in Six Sigma or PMP highly desirable
- Experience with DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 testing standards
- Demonstrated history of bringing complex systems to production
