Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of complex robotic sub-systems from concept to production.
- Perform structural analysis, thermal modeling, and FEA to validate design integrity.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including electrical and firmware engineers, to ensure seamless system integration.
- Manage vendor relationships for prototyping and high-precision component fabrication.
- Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
- Optimize assembly workflows to reduce production lead times while maintaining high quality.
- Lead root-cause analysis for mechanical failures and implement robust design fixes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical design for automation or robotics.
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks or NX preferred).
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFM/DFA principles.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, 3D printing, and machine shop equipment.
- Deep understanding of materials science and kinematic mechanisms.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills in an agile, collaborative environment.
