Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of UAV propulsion components using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with avionics
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and BOMs for prototyping and production
- Conduct root cause analysis of field failures and implement design improvements
- Mentor junior engineers and optimize design workflows
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in aerospace or high-tech mechanical design
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Certification in GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing
- Proven track record of delivering complex mechanical systems
