Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept validation through production release
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis to optimize structural integrity and thermal performance
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and GD&T specifications
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, manufacturing) on system integration
- Prototype testing and validation in laboratory and field environments
- Mentor junior engineers and implement design best practices
- Research emerging materials and manufacturing techniques for aerospace applications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools
- Strong understanding of composite materials and manufacturing processes
- Experience with DO-160 environmental standards and FAA certification processes
- Demonstrated project leadership with complex electromechanical systems
- Proven ability to translate customer requirements into engineering solutions
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality
