Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design of aerospace components using SolidWorks and NX
- Perform FEA/CFD analysis to validate structural integrity and thermal performance
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for DFM/DFA principles
- Develop detailed technical documentation including drawings, BOMs, and test protocols
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Interface with suppliers to source specialized materials and components
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks/NX) and simulation software (ANSYS/COMSOL)
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, composites, sheet metal)
- Proven track record in developing complex mechanical assemblies from concept to production
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility
- Experience with DO-160/178 aerospace standards highly desirable
