Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept to validation
- Develop detailed CAD models and technical documentation using SolidWorks
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) for structural optimization
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams for DFM/DFA implementation
- Mentor junior engineers and review technical deliverables
- Interface with clients to translate requirements into engineering solutions
- Drive continuous improvement in design methodologies and tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace/defense
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and PDMWorks
- Strong background in FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Knowledge of ASME Y14.5 GD&T standards
- Experience with composite materials and additive manufacturing
- Active PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Proven project leadership with complex system integration
