Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects using SolidWorks and ANSYS for aerospace/automotive components
- Develop and optimize CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings to ASME standards
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for performance validation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electrical/software components
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Ensure compliance with industry regulations (ISO 9001, AS9100) and client specifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or automotive industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, with advanced surfacing and complex assembly skills
- Strong background in FEA/thermal analysis using ANSYS or similar tools
- Proven track record of delivering production-ready designs from concept
- Experience with DFM/DFA principles and manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding)
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or eligibility
