Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept to prototyping using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Develop innovative solutions for aerospace propulsion systems with emphasis on weight reduction and thermal management
- Collaborate with materials science team to optimize component performance under extreme conditions
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews to ensure compliance with AS9100 standards
- Prepare detailed technical documentation including CAD models, FEA reports, and manufacturing specifications
- Interface with suppliers to validate component feasibility and cost-effectiveness
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in design methodologies and tools
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (MS preferred) with 5+ years of aerospace or high-tech industry experience
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS simulation tools with proven project portfolio
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and DFMEA methodologies
- Experience with composite materials and additive manufacturing processes
- AS9100 certification and familiarity with FAA/EASA regulations
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage project timelines
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to precision and detail
- Strong communication abilities for technical documentation and stakeholder presentations
