Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects from concept validation to production release
- Develop detailed CAD models and technical drawings using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for structural optimization
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure design-for-manufacturability principles
- Interface with clients to define technical requirements and deliver project milestones
- Mentor junior engineers and establish best practices in design documentation
- Conduct prototype testing and root cause analysis for performance validation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD with advanced surfacing capabilities
- Proven track record with ANSYS or similar FEA simulation software
- Strong knowledge of GD&T and ASME Y14.5 standards
- Experience with materials selection and manufacturing processes (machining, composites)
- Project management certification or equivalent experience
- Clearance eligibility for government-contracted projects
