Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept to validation for aerospace components
- Utilize CAD/CAE tools (SolidWorks, ANSYS) to develop detailed 3D models and perform FEA simulations
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to optimize designs for production feasibility and cost efficiency
- Develop comprehensive technical documentation including BOMs, GD&T specifications, and test protocols
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews to ensure quality and compliance with AS9100 standards
- Interface with clients and stakeholders to translate requirements into robust engineering solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and ANSYS with proven simulation expertise
- Strong understanding of material science, thermodynamics, and structural mechanics
- Experience with DO-160 environmental testing standards and FAA certification processes
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects with multiple stakeholders
- Strong problem-solving skills with attention to precision and regulatory compliance
