Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects using SolidWorks and AutoCAD for industrial automation systems
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal modeling to validate design performance
- Develop comprehensive engineering documentation including BOMs, GD&T, and assembly instructions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and software systems
- Optimize designs for manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and regulatory compliance
- Prototype testing and validation in advanced lab environments
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; Master's preferred
- 7+ years of experience in mechanical design for industrial or automotive applications
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, FEA tools (ANSYS), and GD&T standards
- Proven track record of developing complex mechanical systems from concept to production
- Strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and DFM principles
- Experience leading cross-functional project teams and managing technical documentation
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and quality focus
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
