Responsibilities
- Lead conceptualization and detailed mechanical design of aerospace components using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate designs under extreme conditions
- Develop manufacturing processes and collaborate with production teams for seamless transition
- Create comprehensive technical documentation including BOMs, GD&T specifications, and test protocols
- Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in design methodologies
- Interface with suppliers to ensure component quality and optimize supply chain efficiency
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace or high-tech industries
- Expert proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks/CATIA) and simulation software (ANSYS/Abaqus)
- Strong understanding of material science and manufacturing processes (CNC, composites, additive manufacturing)
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects from concept to production
- Professional Engineering (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
- Experience with DO-160 environmental testing standards highly desirable
