Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design projects using SolidWorks and ANSYS
- Develop thermal management systems for high-performance propulsion units
- Create detailed engineering drawings and manufacturing specifications
- Conduct FEA/CFD simulations for structural and thermal validation
- Collaborate with suppliers on component sourcing and cost optimization
- Mentor junior engineers through design reviews and best practices
- Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (AS9100)
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (MS preferred)
- 5+ years of hands-on mechanical design experience in aerospace or defense
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and simulation tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Proven track record with GD&T and tolerance stack analysis
- Strong knowledge of composite materials and manufacturing processes
- Experience with DO-160 environmental testing standards
- Project leadership experience with cross-functional teams
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license
