Responsibilities
- Lead Mechanical Design: Spearhead the end-to-end mechanical design process for new product development, including concept generation, detailed design, and documentation.
- Advanced CAD Modeling: Utilize industry-standard software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Creo) to create precise 3D models and detailed 2D drawings adhering to GD&T standards.
- Simulation & Analysis: Conduct Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations to validate product integrity and performance under various operating conditions.
- Prototyping & Testing: Oversee the fabrication of prototypes and manage rigorous testing protocols to ensure reliability and safety compliance.
- Manufacturing Collaboration: Work closely with manufacturing and supply chain teams to optimize designs for cost-effective and efficient production.
- Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on complex engineering problems and design iterations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably within the automation, robotics, or consumer electronics industries.
- Software Proficiency: Expert proficiency in SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus).
- Technical Skills: Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes (CNC, injection molding, sheet metal).
- Problem Solving: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex engineering issues and deliver innovative solutions.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
