Job Description
Join Apex Robotics & Automation at the forefront of industrial innovation. We are seeking a visionary Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead the conceptualization and development of next-generation robotic systems. You will bridge the gap between complex theoretical physics and tangible manufacturing solutions, working in a fast-paced environment where your designs define the future of automation.
You will collaborate with cross-functional teams of software and electrical engineers to deliver high-precision mechanical assemblies. If you thrive on solving intricate kinematic challenges and possess a relentless drive for engineering excellence, we want to build the future with you.
Responsibilities
- Lead the full product development lifecycle from initial concept and CAD modeling to prototyping and mass production.
- Perform advanced structural and thermal FEA analysis to ensure system reliability under extreme operational loads.
- Design intricate mechanisms, actuators, and chassis components using SolidWorks.
- Collaborate with manufacturing partners to optimize designs for DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly).
- Oversee rigorous validation testing, including vibration, load, and fatigue stress analysis.
- Mentor junior mechanical engineers on best practices, GD&T, and material selection.
- Manage technical documentation, BOM structures, and engineering change orders (ECOs).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in mechanical product design, preferably in robotics or aerospace.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks or Siemens NX.
- Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
- Proven track record of designing high-precision components for automated systems.
- Experience with material selection, including high-strength alloys, composites, and polymers.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to bridge technical requirements to stakeholders.
