Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of complex robotic subsystems from initial concept to mass production.
- Utilize advanced CAD software (SolidWorks/Creo) to create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
- Perform comprehensive FEA and structural analysis to ensure component durability and optimal performance.
- Collaborate with electrical and software engineering teams to ensure seamless system integration.
- Manage technical documentation, including BOMs, engineering change orders (ECOs), and test reports.
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct rigorous design reviews to maintain quality standards.
- Support prototype assembly and field testing to validate design efficacy under real-world conditions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mechanical product design, specifically in robotics, automotive, or aerospace.
- Expert-level proficiency in 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks preferred) and PDM systems.
- Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance analysis, and material selection (metals and composites).
- Demonstrated experience with DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) principles.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues and implement effective engineering solutions.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional project teams.
