Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of complex mechanical assemblies for robotic platforms.
- Conduct rigorous FEA and thermal analysis to ensure structural integrity and performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate electrical, software, and mechanical components.
- Create detailed technical drawings and BOMs for manufacturing compliance.
- Oversee rapid prototyping and coordinate with vendors to ensure component quality.
- Conduct design reviews and implement engineering change orders (ECOs) to improve production efficiency.
- Provide technical mentorship to junior design staff and ensure adherence to best engineering practices.
Qualifications
- B.S. or M.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, preferably in robotics or industrial automation.
- Expert-level proficiency in SolidWorks, PTC Creo, or Autodesk Inventor.
- Proven track record in designing for manufacturing (DFM) and assembly (DFA).
- Deep understanding of GD&T, material selection, and tolerance analysis.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical systems.
- Excellent communication skills and experience leading technical project workstreams.
