Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end mechanical design lifecycle from concept validation through production release using SolidWorks and CATIA
- Perform FEA/CFD simulations to optimize structural integrity and aerodynamic performance
- Develop detailed manufacturing drawings and tolerance specifications compliant with AS9100 standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (aerodynamics, controls, systems) to integrate complex subsystems
- Prototype testing and validation using in-house wind tunnels and load-testing facilities
- Mentor junior engineers while maintaining compliance with ISO 9001 quality management systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in precision mechanical design for aerospace or high-performance industries
- Expert proficiency in 3D CAD tools (SolidWorks/CATIA) and simulation software (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Demonstrated experience with composite material design and manufacturing processes
- Strong knowledge of GD&T, ASME Y14.5 standards, and tolerance stack analysis
- Proven track record of designing for manufacturability (DFM) and assembly (DFA)
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within 6 months
