Responsibilities
- Lead the mechanical design and development of complex robotic systems from concept to mass production.
- Perform detailed FEA and thermal analysis to optimize structural integrity and system performance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software, electrical, and manufacturing engineers.
- Drive CAD modeling standards and mentor junior engineering staff on best practices.
- Manage technical documentation, including BOMs, assembly drawings, and validation reports.
- Lead root-cause analysis (RCA) efforts for mechanical failures and drive iterative design improvements.
- Oversee prototyping efforts, ensuring designs meet strict tolerance and material specifications.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 6+ years of professional experience in mechanical system design, preferably in robotics or aerospace.
- Expert-level proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or NX preferred).
- Strong background in GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and DFM/DFA principles.
- Proven ability to perform complex analytical calculations and FEA simulations (Ansys/SolidWorks Simulation).
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience with material selection for high-stress, high-cycle applications.
