Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design projects from concept through prototyping and production implementation
- Develop and optimize CAD models using SolidWorks and CATIA for complex assemblies
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations
- Collaborate with manufacturing teams to ensure DFM/DFA principles are applied
- Manage technical documentation including BOMs, GD&T specifications, and test protocols
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct design reviews
- Research emerging materials and manufacturing technologies for product innovation
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for automotive or aerospace industries
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and CATIA with complex assembly management
- Strong background in FEA/CFD tools (ANSYS, Abaqus)
- Proven track record of bringing products from concept to production
- Knowledge of automotive standards (IATF 16949, APQP)
- Experience with additive manufacturing and lightweight materials
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical leadership abilities
