Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end product development from concept to production for aerospace systems
- Utilize advanced CAD tools (SolidWorks, Creo) to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings
- Conduct finite element analysis (FEA) and thermal simulations for performance optimization
- Oversee prototyping processes including material selection and manufacturing feasibility studies
- Mentor junior engineers and implement continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with ASME standards and industry regulations
- Collaborate with suppliers to develop custom manufacturing solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field (Master's preferred)
- 8+ years of experience in mechanical design for aerospace/defense industry
- Expert proficiency in SolidWorks and PDM/PLM systems
- Proven track record with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus) and thermal analysis
- Strong knowledge of materials science and manufacturing processes
- Experience with DO-160 certification requirements
- Excellent problem-solving skills and project management capabilities
- Professional Engineer (PE) license highly desirable
