We are currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer to join our elite engineering team in Detroit. Responsibilities
- Lead Process Optimization: Analyze current manufacturing workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement Lean and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
- Equipment & Automation: Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to design, install, and commission new automated machinery and control systems.
- NPI Support: Act as a key technical liaison during New Product Introduction (NPI), providing manufacturing feasibility assessments and tooling strategies.
- Quality Assurance: Develop and maintain comprehensive manufacturing protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and quality control plans to ensure ISO 9001 compliance.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical issues on the production floor, minimizing downtime and ensuring continuous operations.
- Team Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and production staff, fostering a culture of safety, precision, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years of experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive or aerospace industries.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in CAD/CAM software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or Siemens NX) and PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
- Methodologies: Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly preferred.
- Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with strong communication skills to bridge the gap between engineering and operations.
- Flexibility: Willingness to travel to various plant sites and work occasional off-hours for critical maintenance or project launches.
