Responsibilities
- Oversee daily transportation operations, ensuring on-time delivery and optimal route planning.
- Manage and negotiate contracts with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and freight carriers.
- Analyze logistics data and KPIs to identify trends, forecast demand, and improve performance.
- Develop and manage the annual logistics budget, focusing on cost-saving initiatives.
- Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal transportation regulations (DOT/FMCSA).
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of logistics coordinators and dispatchers.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or Transportation preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in logistics management, freight forwarding, or supply chain operations.
- Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as SAP TM, Oracle, or Manhattan.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and generate actionable insights.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
- Valid driver's license is a plus but not required for this management role.
