Responsibilities
- Operational Management: Oversee daily freight operations, including planning, scheduling, and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery and compliance with regulatory standards.
- Carrier Relations: Develop and maintain strong relationships with third-party logistics providers and freight carriers to negotiate favorable rates and secure capacity during peak seasons.
- Data Analysis: Monitor logistics KPIs and performance metrics using TMS (Transportation Management Systems) and ERP software to identify areas for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Problem Solving: Proactively troubleshoot logistics bottlenecks, delays, or damages, implementing immediate corrective actions and long-term strategic solutions.
- Inventory Control: Collaborate with warehousing teams to manage inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock counts and optimizing warehouse space utilization.
- Compliance & Documentation: Ensure all shipping documents, bills of lading, and customs paperwork are accurate, complete, and filed in accordance with local and international laws.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 4-6 years of proven experience in logistics, supply chain coordination, or freight forwarding.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Transportation Management Systems (TMS) such as Oracle, SAP, or Manhattan Associates, and strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and interact professionally with diverse stakeholders.
- Organizational Skills: Superior attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Travel: Willingness to travel occasionally to supplier sites or distribution centers as required.
