Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Oversee daily logistics operations, including fleet management, route planning, and scheduling to ensure on-time delivery and optimal resource utilization.
- Team Management: Mentor, train, and lead a high-performing team of logistics coordinators and support staff, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Process Optimization: Analyze current supply chain workflows to identify bottlenecks and implement strategic improvements that reduce costs and enhance service levels.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs), carriers, and freight forwarders to negotiate contracts and ensure service quality.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to local, state, and federal transportation regulations, including DOT compliance and safety standards.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as delivery accuracy, turnaround time, and freight costs to generate comprehensive performance reports.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in logistics operations, supply chain management, or transportation management.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of logistics management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP software) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Leadership Skills: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing large-scale projects within a logistics environment.
- Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on cost reduction and efficiency enhancement.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex data to stakeholders clearly.
