Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of logistics professionals, providing mentorship, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
- Oversee daily logistics operations, including dispatch, routing, freight forwarding, and warehousing activities to ensure operational excellence.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize transportation networks, reduce costs, and improve service delivery across all modes (road, rail, air, sea).
- Negotiate and manage relationships with carriers, vendors, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to secure favorable rates and service levels.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven insights and lean principles.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, customer service, and supply chain teams to align logistics operations with broader business objectives.
- Utilize advanced logistics software and systems to track shipments, manage inventory, and provide real-time updates to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain operations, with at least 3 years in a management or supervisory role.
- Demonstrated expertise in freight management, warehousing, distribution, and multimodal transportation.
- Strong understanding of DOT, FMCSA, and other relevant regulatory compliance.
- Proficiency with modern Transportation Management Systems (TMS), Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
- Proven ability to analyze complex data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions to optimize operations.
- PMP, CSCP, or similar professional certifications are highly desirable.
